Intergenerational transmission of digital data : user perceptions and the future

Résumé

Digital traces and data are becoming increasingly abundant. This paper will examine their eventual fate by focusing on the issues of their intergenerational transmission, seen from the point of view of individuals. Respondents highlighted the advantages of digital transmission over that of physical objects. However, the sense of a lack of ownership on the Internet and the perceived usefulness of current safeguarding solutions are major barriers to the transmission of digital data.
