Résumé

Over the past decade one of the growing and persistent obsessions of biologists has been to observe and study the behavior of their favorite biomolecules in their natural environment, in order to track their dynamics in space and time. Whilst invasive approaches to extract and purify proteins from cell lysates or tissues, as well as antibody‐ and radioactivity‐based strategies allow the identification of specific targets or biomarkers, the results of these approaches do not convey any information concerning the dynamic nature of biomolecules. The development of molecular probes and imaging technologies has provided scientists with the opportunity to monitor dynamic processes in living cells and organisms.
