This species native to Greece (all regions except South Pindos; Dimopoulos et al. 2013), the Adriatic coastal islands of Croatia, Spain (Balearic Islands). It has also rarely been recorded from western Turkey and coastal Former Yugoslavia (Mathew 1996), although not yet been found in Albania or Montenegro, and can also be found in Italy (peninsula, Sicily, Ischia, Corsica, and Sardinia), continental France, Algeria (Véla et al. 2012) and Tunisia (Pavon and Véla 2011) (mainly in small islands) (De Bélair et al. 2012).
