Italy's path to federalism. Origins and paradoxes

Résumé

Italy’s federalization is an ongoing process which is part of a broader political and institutional adaptation that has been taking place since the early 1990s. This article explores the origins of modern Italian federalism, the goals it was supposed to reach and the paradoxes it has revealed given the gap between what was planned and what has been accomplished.
