Ni-catalyzed three-component synthesis of secondary and tertiary C(sp3)-organogermanes

In this issue of Chem Catalysis, Huang and co-workers disclose a Ni-catalyzed three-component reductive coupling between alkyl halides, alkenes, and chlorogermanes. This method offers an efficient broad-in-scope access to secondary and tertiary C(sp3)-organogermanes, with carbon–germanium bond-formation, and represents a significant contribution to the rapidly expanding field of organogermane synthesis.
